What a PPA actually is — in plain English

A Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) lets you go solar without buying the system. We pay for and install the panels on your roof, then sell you the electricity they generate at a fixed rate that's lower than the grid. You use that cheaper power first, and only top up from the grid when you need to.

The short version

  • £0 upfront — we fund the whole system.
  • You save from day one on daytime electricity.
  • We own, insure and maintain it for the whole term.
  • No performance risk to you — if the sun doesn't shine, you don't pay for power that wasn't made.

Common questions

Who owns and maintains the panels on a PPA?
We do. We fund, install, insure and maintain the system for the length of the agreement. You pay only for the clean power you use.
Is there really nothing to pay upfront?
Correct — £0 capital outlay. Your savings come from buying solar power at a rate below the grid from day one.
What happens at the end of the PPA term?
You'll typically have options to extend, buy the system at a reduced value, or have it removed. We set this out clearly before you sign.
What makes a pub eligible?
A decent unshaded roof, good daytime electricity use, and a lease/covenant that permits the works. We confirm eligibility at survey.
